ClearCorrect Vs. Invisalign
The first question patients usually ask us when visiting our orthodontic practice is what is the difference between ClearCorrect and Invisalign? As a top Invisalign provider, we have experienced fabulous results time and time again with both Invisalign and ClearCorrect. Although there are minor differences between the two, the final decision ultimately relies on personal preference. The main differences between the two are:
- Is often more affordable than Invisalign
- Retainer at the end is often free
- Aligners are manufactured in the United States
- The plastic material may not be as comfortable as Invisalign's
- Typically more expensive than ClearCorrect
- The cost of the retainer is often an additional cost
- Aligners are manufactured offshore
- The smart track plastic material offers greater comfort than ClearCorrect
When you come into our office for a ClearCorrect consultation, our orthodontists can discuss the differences further and answer all your questions to determine if ClearCorrect is the best choice for you.
What to Expect
Once you chose ClearCorrect, our orthodontists will take digital X-rays of your teeth and jaws, plus dental impressions that will be used to make your ClearCorrect aligners. Once we receive your aligners, we will schedule a fitting appointment. Generally, you can expect to have follow-up appointments every 2 weeks. During this time, we will check on your progress and issue replacement aligners as your teeth and bite change. If you lose or damage one of your aligners, just give us a quick call and we can have replacement aligners made so that you can continue treatment without waiting until your next appointment. Depending on the position of your teeth and the amount of correction needed, your prescribed orthodontic care could last 12 – 24 months (or 3 – 8 phases of treatment).
Our orthodontists will require regular visits for checkups to document your progress and to make adjustments as needed. It is also very important to keep your teeth and the ClearCorrect aligners clean so that you do not end up with tooth decay. Brushing your teeth, flossing, and using mouthwash after you take the aligners out to eat is a good habit to start along with rinsing or cleaning the aligner before putting it back in your mouth. You should also store your aligners in their designated protective case during meal times to prevent aligners from being lost.
